Inversion Ensemble is excited to announce our first virtual collaborative choral project, and we would love to have submissions from all around the choral community to make this truly special. In a time when we cannot gather with our ensembles in person, we want to stay engaged with the greater musical community, to keep people singing during the quarantine, and to make sure that new music is still being created and shared. We invite you to submit your vocal recording of Asleep in a Blanket Spun of Energy, by Adrienne Inglis and Trevor Shaw, based on the poem We Are Returning Always by Margaret Noodin. We would love to make music with you all, and look forward to hearing your voices!

FAQs / Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the missing text on p. 6 (mm. 45-49) supposed to be the same as the other voices?
A: Yes. Sorry about that!

Q: May I use the rehearsal track instead of the electronic track to record?
A: Yes. The same applies: just wait until the DOWNBEAT of the THIRD MEASURE of the track to push record.

Q: Which divisi part should I sing?
A: Either one or feel free to record twice and sing both parts, labeling each recording as ASLEEP_FIRSTNAME_LASTNAME_VOICEPART1 and/or ASLEEP_FIRSTNAME_LASTNAME_VOICEPART2.

Q: What should I do if some of the music is difficult for me?
A: Do the best you can and just record the parts you're comfortable but have the recording still proceed uninterrupted from beginning to end.
